  • All of our artists book on a quarterly basis and book out 3-4 months ahead. Check each artists Instagram to find out more about individual booking processes.

  • Reach out to your artist directly via email (not instagram)

  • We are an appointment only private studio meaning we do not take walk ins.

  • We do not have a piercer (but there is an excellent queer/female owned piercing shop right up the road called Black Maple)

  • All of artists work for themselves and write their own schedules. For this reason we do not have hours of operation as it changes on a day to day basis.

  • If you are heading north on 302 (toward Raymond, away from Portland) we are on the left hand side of the road after the Seacoast Adventure park. We are the center unit in a maroon and white building on the first floor (facing 302) right between the Aflac and the Hair Salon.

  • There is free parking in the parking lot right in front of the building.

  • We like to create a calm environment for all our clients and ask that only the person getting tattooed arrives to the appointment, all other guests will be asked to leave.

  • Yourself and any comfort items you may want (Comfy clothes, blanket, stuffie, fidget toy, phone, headphones, book). You are not being rude by distracting yourself with other things during your tattoo appointment.

  • Of course! There is no social obligation to hold a conversation while you are getting tattooed. If you want to bring headphones and listen/watch something you are welcome to do so, so long as you are still available for your artists to check in on your or communicate with you about things regarding your tattoo.

  • You are not obligated to tip! You artist will always appreciate it, but it is never expected.

    We can also guarantee your artist loves a little treat whether that be a coffee, a cookie or a sticker.

Q

DEPOSIT POLICIES

  • Your deposit goes toward the final cost of your tattoo. 

  • Deposits are non refundable, no exceptions. 

  • With your deposit you are allowed one reschedule that must be made no less than 48 hours before your appointment.

  •  If you reschedule or cancel your appointment within 48 hours of your appointment you will lose your deposit and have to put down another deposit before being able to book another appointment, no exceptions.

  • If you cancel or reschedule before 48 hours, you must reschedule your appointment within 6 months of your original tattoo date or you will lose your deposit.

  • Your deposit is non transferable, this means you can not transfer your deposit to another person or a different tattoo idea. 

  • If you no call no show you will not be allowed to book another appointment at Frog and Fern.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, you will forfeit your deposit and we will have to reschedule your appointment. 

  • If you decide to act like an ass hole, we have the right to refuse service at any point. Your deposit is non refundable. No exceptions. 

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICIES

  • You cannot be tattooed if you are nursing or pregnant.

  • EVERYONE must wear a mask during your appointment. If you are feeling unwell to any degree, please reschedule your appointment. 

  • If you have been in contact with anyone with covid in the week prior, please reschedule. 

  • If you test positive for covid, you must test negative before getting tattooed. 

  • If you have a vaccine scheduled within a week either before or after your appointment, please reschedule.

  • Only the person actively getting tattooed will be allowed in the studio during your appointment, this means you are not allowed to bring any friends, family members or partners to your appointment. If you are getting a tattoo with someone, the person not actively getting tattooed will have to wait outside until it is their turn. 

AFTERCARE:

2 hours after receiving your tattoo:

  • After washing your hands thoroughly with antibacterial unscented soap, carefully remove plastic wrap and discard.

  • Rinse gently in luke warm water with an unscented antibacterial softsoap such as Dial foaming hand soap (NOT BAR SOAP).

  • Apply a thin layer of Toad and Turnip, Crybaby, Hustle Butter, Aquaphor, or another healing salve recommended to your artist (not your friend and not the internet).

  • Do not wrap in plastic or gauze again unless recommended by your artist.

  • Continue to follow this precedure twice per day for the next 4-5 days.

  • 4 days after receiving your tattoo: you may switch to an unscented lotion or aftercare product of your choice as continue to wash with unscented antibacterial soap until fully healed

  • Once tattoo is healed: apply lotion and sunscreen daily for the rest of forever. seriously.

DO NOT:

  • Do not swim or submerge your tattoo in a bath, a pool, hot tub, the ocean or other body of water for 3 weeks after receiving your tattoo. Doing so may result in serious infection and possible death.

  • Do not go to any public or private gym facilities or work out classes for two weeks minimum. (You can work out in your own home or outside so long as your tattoo is covered by loose clothing. 

  • Do not expose your tattoo to the sun for the rest of your life. Or at least for the first month and then always wear sunscreen dammit. 

  • In order to prevent sun damage, you must be wearing dark clothing, light clothes do not protect your skin from the sun. 

  • Do not use sunscreen until your tattoo is fully healed. 

  • Do not expose fresh tattoo to pet hair, dirt, germs or bacteria.

  • Do contact your artist with any questions or concerns.

  • Do send us healed photos and tag us on Instagram
